LaRhonda Crosby-Johnson has over 25 years experience in reproductive health and adolescent pregnancy prevention. She is the CEO of Baruti Enterprises, where she serves as a health education consultant. She is a certified self-care consultant with Warm Spirit, Inc. She is an author, a wife, and a grandmother. LaRhonda has been a highly praised speaker at CHT’s Reproductive Health Conferences.
About the Workshop
How comfortable are you in your approach and your effectiveness when working with your adolescent patients or clients? This session will offer an opportunity to explore and share effective strategies for working with teens around issues of abstinence and contraception use.

This session will be a webinar. A special tutorial will be prepared to help you navigate the tools. Because we want to make this session somewhat interactive, we want you to know who to ask questions, respond to questions the presenter will ask, and to simply feel comfortable with this mode of training.
Who Should Attend?
Midlevel practitioners, health educators, non-clinical family planning staff.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:
- Identify personal values and/or biases that interfere with effectively counseling teens regarding contraception and abstinence.
- Prepare a client-centered session with teens.
- Identify techniques for establishing rapport with adolescents.
Registration and Fees: $35 per line (there can be several participants on one connection). A $10 late fee will be assessed for each registration received after May 23. Fees can be refunded if cancellation is received five working days prior to the session.

Continuing Education: This session is approved for 1.5 contact hours of WSNA nursing credit.
