Family Planning Basics Certification Challenge Exam
Monday, June 2, 2008
9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 - 4:30 pm

Oakland, CA

In this training:
Do you have basic family planning knowledge and skills and would like the Family Planning Basics certification without attending the two-day workshop? You can "challenge" the exam by signing up for the Family Planning Basics Challenge exam instead of attending the two-day workshop and the follow-up exam.

This is only recommended for those staff members that already have a working knowledge of the topics of:

  • Title X Guidelines
  • Informed Consent
  • Human Sexuality
  • Male and Female Reproductive Anatomy
  • Contraceptive Methods
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections
  • Family Planning Education and Counseling Principles

This session will consist of a written exam and an individual role play. You will be the counselor in the role play, providing basic education and counseling to a "client".

To prepare, we will send you pre-reading materials upon request. It is also recommended that you view two videos, "Contraceptive Choices: What Your Clients Need To Know" and "Family Planning Basics: Effective Education and Counseling." If your agency does not already have these videos, they can be ordered at www.centerforhealthtraining.org/materials.html.

Fees: All fees are per person. Title X-funded agencies: $40; Private/Other funding: $75.

Credit Cards: You may pay for registration fees securely on line with a Visa or Mastercard. Select payment by credit card and after submitting your registration you will see a "pay now" button to process payment. There is an additional $1.50 processing fee per applicant for this option. Our online registration system processes each applicant individually, if you would like to register and pay with a credit card for three or more applicants, please contact us at 510/835-3700 to streamline the process.

To Register: Register online by slecting one of the two options below. Confirmations will be mailed two weeks prior to the workshop and will include specific location, directions and other details. Participants are responsible for their own meals, travel and lodging.

Deadline: Registrations must be received by Friday, May 23, 2008.

Special Needs: Please contact us if you need special access or an ASL interpreter.
