Educating and Counseling Males on Sexual & Reproductive Health Issues
Audio Conference

This event takes place via telephone; participants will call a toll free number and listen to a presentation while following along with written materials. You will have the opportunity to ask questions during several Q&A periods. Detailed instructions and handouts will be sent to the person who registers (aka The Caller). The Caller is also encouraged to register additional listeners for this event.

In This Training: This audio conference will identify issues and barriers for males that influence their sexual and reproductive health care. Participants will learn how to more effectively address males' sexual and reproductive health concerns as well as learn communication strategies to counsel males.

Audience: Family planning staff who provide services to males.

Presenter: David L. Bell, M.D. is Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Bell provides direct service to adolescents and young adults and has been the medical director of the Young Men’s Clinic since 1999. He is a strong advocate for the right of young men to have access to respectful services that address their sexual and reproductive health care concerns.

At the end of this audio conference, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify at least two barriers for male sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care utilization;
  • Demonstrate at least two strategies to counsel males about SRH issues.

Fees: All fees are per phone line. Title X-funded agencies: $25; Private/Other funding: $45. CE units are and additional $10. See front panel for more info on CE Units . A $10 late fee will be assessed for each registration received after the deadline. Fees can be refunded if cancellation is received 5 working days prior to the session.

Use the CHT registration form to signup the site coordinator who will be in charge of your site for the workshop. You will need a valid email address.
