Region IX Infertility Prevention Project Chlamydia Clinical Guidelines
These December 2003 Guidelines replace the original 1998 version. The Guidelines were updated to incorporate new information presented on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, 2002 Treatment and Laboratory Guidelines. The following topics are covered: laboratory services and testing; history, risk assessment and physical exam; clinical presentation and diagnosis; treatment; follow-up of positive chlamydia test results; reporting procedures; clinic staff education and training; patient/client education and counseling; partner identification and referral; partner assessment and treatment; and outreach activities. The full download includes a minor addition made to Appendix B in May 2005: a patient information sheet with instructions for collecting APTIMA vaginal swab specimens. If you already have the full document, you may download just those two pages (Appendix B Additions) below.
