About This Audio Conference
This audio conference will explore how family planning staff, in both the community and clinic settings, can help families be involved in a teen’s sexual decision-making. It will also include strategies for reaching and communicating with families of adolescents regarding sexuality, reproductive health, contraception and abstinence.
As a result of this audio conference, listeners will be able to:
- Identify the meaning of “family involvement” in Title X funded programs.
- Describe new research related to the impact of family involvement on adolescent behavior
- Practice techniques to foster family involvement while protecting teen confidentiality.
Audience
All levels of family planning clinic staff, outreach workers, and health educators who have direct contact with adolescent clients.
Speaker
La Rhonda Crosby-Johnson is a trainer and educational program consultant who has been working in the field of adolescent pregnancy prevention, health, violence prevention and reproductive health care for over 25 years. She has done state-wide training on intimate partner violence. She also provides coaching to health and educational professionals.
