Audio Conference

This event takes place via telephone; participants will call a toll free number and listen to a presentation while following along with written materials. You will have the opportunity to ask questions during several Q&A periods. Detailed instructions and handouts will be sent to the person who registers (aka The Caller). The Caller is also encouraged to register additional listeners for this event.
About This Audio Conference
This workshop provides strategies for assessing and counseling family planning clients who have been sexually coerced or abused, including strategies for resisting coercion.
As a result of this audio conference, listeners will be able to:
- identify indicators of unwanted sexual contact;
- demonstrate counseling strategies to help clients respond to sexual coercion;
- describe how to counsel teens who have been sexually abused.
Audience
Staff who directly interact with adolescent clients, including clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, counselors, and educators.
Speakers
Erica Bisgyer Monasterio, MN, FNP is a clinical professor at the UCSF Dept of Pediatrics and Nursing. Her expertise is in working with high risk clients in community-based settings and the development and monitoring of primary care programs which serve marginalized populations. Her special interests are in the areas of sexuality, risk assessment, and behavior change.
Fees
All fees are per phone line:
- Title X-funded agencies: $25
- Private/Other funding: $45
- CE units are an additional $10
A $10 late fee will be assessed for each registration received after the deadline. Fees can be refunded if cancellation is received five working days prior to the session.

Continuing Education (1.4)
Center for Health Training is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Upon successful completion of this educational activity 1.4 contact hours will be awarded.
