The Use of Emerging Technologies to Support Health Messages Conference

Houston, TX

June 1 - 2, 2010

About The Conference

As technology evolves, so do our methods of communication. Messenger pigeons gave way to telegraphs, which were replaced by telephones, mail, and email. Now we rely on Facebook or twitter to keep in touch and make new connections. It is imperative that we understand the role of Social Media and how it is being used in the lives of clients we serve.

Learning Objectives

In our fun and interactive sessions, you will:

  • Identify the latest social media for effective education and communication
  • Explain the advantages of using new media to interact wtih clients and to promote community health
  • Discuss evaluation of the impact of new technology on health programs
  • Explore diverse perspectives with regards to the use of social media in patient education and communication
  • Describe how to affordably use the appropriate technology with clients
  • Explore how to become a model for other community organizations
