Description

This workshop is for Louisiana DHH OPH family planning clinic staff. To promote best practices in patient care, this face-to-face training will focus on: Bacterial Vaginosis, Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Target Audience

Clinic staff from Louisiana public health clinics.

Goals/Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Define abnormal vaginal bleeding.
  • Identify types and strains of HPV and their impact on women.
  • Identify signs, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of abnormal vaginal bleeding, vaginitis, and HPV infection.
  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of HPV vaccination for clients in Family Planning clinics.
  • Describe a complete GYN history and physical on women presenting to Family Planning clinics.
  • Describe the appropriateness of referral for specialty care.
